Construction of the DK 90 national road bridge over the Vistula river near Kwidzyn, complete with approach roads, between Korzeniewo, Kwidzyn powiat, Pomorskie Province and Opalenie, Tczew powiat, Pomorskie Province. The construction work was completed between 2010 and 2013 by a Polish-Spanish consortium of Budimex and Ferrovial Agroman. The construction costs of the bridge and its approach roads with a total approximate length of 11.9 km exceeded PLN 250 million.
The new bridge over the Vistula river links the DK 55 national road in Kwidzyn and the DK 91 national road (formerly the DK 1 national road) on the western bank of the Vistula and the A1 motorway.
The new road bridge is approximately 1.3 km north of the old ferry crossing in Korzeniewo, operated from spring (the end of April) to autumn.
Several kilometres upstream of the Vistula, a road and rail truss bridge was used in Opalenie until 1927, replaced with a temporary wooden bridge constructed by army engineers and used from 1944 to 1947.
